Elevate Livelihoods, Peace and Advocacy (ELPA) is a Kenyan registered Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) under the NGOs Coordination Board, with Registration No. OP.218/051/18-075/11451. Since its inception in 2019, ELPA has lived its overarching mission of fostering sustainable peace and development through promoting community driven initiatives in livelihoods, peacebuilding and equitable health advocacy.
Our organization's roots can be traced back to our predecessor, Elgon Sisters Community Based Organization (CBO) which has operations in Mt. Elgon Subcounty, Bungoma County. The CBO initiated impactful grassroot interventions, including promoting cultural cohesion, organizing tree planting campaigns, facilitating peace dialogues, conducting anti-jigger drives, mentoring young girls and advocating against teenage pregnancies. While the CBO interventions were transformative, its scale was limited to Mt. Elgon due to registration restrictions.
Recognizing the growing demand of its services beyond Mt Elgon, the CBO transitioned into a fully registered NGO-ELPA, with the mandate to operate in all 47 Kenyan counties. This transformation expanded its mandate to respond to community needs in neighbouring counties, while strengthening its capacity to partner with diverse stakeholders in advancing peace, livelihoods and equitable healthcare.
A peaceful, self-sufficient, and healthy society.
To empower vulnerable communities by enhancing their access to healthcare services, job creation, ability to resolve conflicts, and sustainable utilization of natural resources for posterity.
We believe everyone deserves impartial access to resources, rights, and opportunities. We support actions that deepen mutuality, equity, and equality in all our programs.
We hold ourselves to the highest level of moral and ethical uprightness, honesty, and transparency in everything we do.
We are committed to the judicious and transparent management of all processes and resources entrusted to us by donors, partners, and communities.
